Dr. Patel’s journey to dentistry began in India, where he was born and raised before moving to Boston, Massachusetts during high school. He chose dentistry because it offered the perfect combination of medical practice, hands-on artistry, and the autonomy to build meaningful patient relationships while maintaining work-life balance. This decision allowed him to pursue both clinical excellence and family priorities.
Global Perspective, Local Commitment
During his training at Boston University, Dr. Patel participated in dental mission trips to Hyderabad, India and Antigua, Guatemala. These experiences shaped his approach to patient care by exposing him to underserved populations and teaching him creative problem-solving when resources are limited. Working in remote settings where improvisation was necessary strengthened his ability to deliver high-quality care while adapting to each patient’s unique circumstances.
Dr. Patel maintains his commitment to advanced education through intensive continuing training. He recently completed a rigorous week-long implant program in Colombia, working alongside oral surgeons and implantologists on complex cases. This hands-on training provides him confidence in offering advanced implant services to Salisbury patients who previously needed referrals to specialists in other cities.
His practice emphasizes painless, comfortable dentistry using modern anesthetics and gentle techniques. Many patients at Trident Smiles remember an era when dental visits were traumatic experiences.
